Based on 618 reviewsFocacceria dei Mercanti is widely praised for its fresh, flavorful focaccia that combines traditional Italian ingredients with creative toppings. Customers appreciate the crisp texture and warm servings, often highlighting the unique combinations like cheese with honey and caramelized onions. While the majority of feedback is positive, some note inconsistencies in certain offerings, such as variations in cheese quantity or sauce flavor, which occasionally fall short of expectations. The venue’s busy atmosphere and moderate wait times are acknowledged but generally accepted given the quality of the food. Overall, it is regarded as a reliable spot for a satisfying fast-food experience with a distinctive Palermo flair.
Simply perfect, come here hungry and order a few, you won't regret it. Update - we were back 3 days in a row because it was so good.
The focaccia was great, especially the one with cheese, honey & carmalized onions. The mortadella with straciatella was lacking a bit of straciatella and fresh pistacchios to reach 5 stars. The place is busy, serving takes about 10-15 minutes.
OMG Best focaccia I had in all Italy Fresh and crunchy tastes amazing! DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!
L’ammiraglio was a disappointment, it was dry, not enough cheese, the pistachio sauce was tasteless. Baaria was delicious, we loved the crispy onion, the cheese and that it was warm. It’s a busy street and some waiting time, but they serve nicely temperatured wine although it’s a fast food type of place.
Tasty and decent sandwiches. Nothing particularly surprising, but nothing disappointing either. As an evening snack, they’re definitely worth a try
This was my favorite sandwich of my entire almost three week trip. Unfortunately I came here first (and I came back several times) so I was disappointed in all the other sandwiches on my trip. Highly recommend. Quick service, great combinations, affordable, very very good.
We loved this place so much, we came twice during our stay in Palermo! The sandwiches are amazing – made with warm, crispy focaccia bread that’s just the right amount of crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The ingredients are super fresh, and you can mix and match between different Italian cold cuts, cheeses, and sauces to create your perfect combo. Everything feels homemade and high quality. The vibe is casual, and the service was really friendly both times. If you’re in the mood for a satisfying, authentic bite while exploring Palermo, this spot is an absolute must.
